Buried Shrapnel 18"x24"

She embodies the suffering that is forever carried by victims of abuse, sexual assaults, and violence. Blame and self-degrading effects take hold and the harm is carried with victims/survivors at all moments. But not all of the buried shrapnel is bad. Buried deep within are the initials of the artist's mother, who buried herself into her daughter long before the damage. This gave her strength and was the main force driving her to go through all challenges. If those inner voices are loud enough, they will help heal faster than outside help alone can accomplish. Build strength in your daughters, mothers, sisters, and friends. Always there, always.
